Materials
Within reason we can construct your vessels in the material of your choice. As standard, and for rapid delivery, the vacuum envelope will be constructed from 304 (1.4301) stainless steel, 304L (1.4435) and 316L (1.4436) grades are also kept in stock. As standard the flanges will be manufactured from forged 304 stainless steel. In very demanding environments where magnetic permeability and/or very low outgassing rates are of prime importance 316LN ESR flanges are recommended. These are available from stock, at a premium. We also manufacture chambers from Mu metal where internal magnetic fields need to be kept to a minimum for certain surface science analytical techniques.

Precision CNC Machining means that whether you require a one off special or 33 specials, we can guarantee your port will be in the right place, or at least the place where you asked for it to be! Our innovative engineers are constantly looking for new ways to use our state of the art equipment in order to both improve performance and reduce costs. They have also seen it all before and can apply this knowledge to suggest better and more cost effective designs. We are keen and able to suggest modifications or even alternative designs that could improve your chamber and save you money. This includes the sharing of designs that we have previously used over the years. We have built vessels for most applications and where this breaches no previous agreements we are happy to share these designs to both reduce your costs and also stimulate your ideas.
